Academy of Cheese Level 2 Tasting Box

If Level 1 whetted your appetite for cheese knowledge, Level 2 is where things start to get really interesting — and there’s rather more homework to eat!

Our Academy of Cheese Level 2 Tasting Box has been put together to accompany the Level 2 (Member) course and contains 24 of the 100 cheeses studied at Level 2.

Level 2 takes a much deeper dive into the world of cheese, building on the foundations of Level 1 and exploring cheesemaking, maturation, provenance, tasting and the wonderful diversity of cheese in considerably more detail.

This box gives you the chance to put that knowledge into practice by tasting your way through 24 different cheeses. Whether you’re currently studying towards Level 2, preparing for the course or simply want to take your cheese knowledge a little further, it’s a pretty delicious way to study.

We also teach Academy of Cheese Level 2 courses here in our Tasting Rooms in Pangbourne, so if you’d rather work your way through Level 2 with us — and eat plenty of cheese along the way — we’d love to have you.

Two boxes, 24 cheeses

Twenty-four cheeses is quite a lot of homework to tackle in one go, so we normally send your tasting box in two deliveries of 12 cheeses.

Your first box will contain 12 cheeses and we’ll send a further 12 approximately a week later, giving you time to taste, compare and make notes without having quite so much cheese taking over your fridge!

If you’d prefer to receive all 24 cheeses at once, that’s absolutely fine — just let us know in the notes section at checkout.

** Please note: Artisan cheese doesn’t always behave conveniently! Occasionally availability means we need to substitute one of the cheeses in the boxes. If that happens, we’ll replace it with another Level 2 cheese wherever possible, or with a cheese of a similar style that allows you to explore the same characteristics. **

About the Academy of Cheese

The Academy of Cheese is an impartial, not-for-profit organisation created to promote cheese knowledge, education and careers within the cheese industry.

The Academy programme has four levels, beginning with Level 1 Associate and progressing all the way through to Master of Cheese.

Our own Jen is a Fellow of the Academy of Cheese, teaches Academy courses here in Pangbourne and is currently continuing her own studies towards Master of Cheese.

Be warned though: by Level 2, learning about cheese has probably already become rather addictive.
