These Peter’s Yard Original Sourdough Crackers are made in small batches with the Peter’s Yard signature sourdough starter. They’re crafted from natural ingredients including Shipton Mill flour and fresh milk. Savour the crunch with your favourite cheese.
If you’ve ever wondered what makes a cracker truly special, Peter’s Yard Original Sourdough Crackers are a great place to start. Made the old-fashioned way with a sourdough starter cared for generations (a bit like a family pet, but tastier!), these crackers draw on Swedish baking traditions and are crafted in small batches with proper ingredients and plenty of care. They’re not just something to nibble on; they’re a treat, and I always find myself reaching for another.
The first thing I notice is the crunch, thin, crisp, and satisfying snap. The sourdough adds a gentle tang that makes each bite interesting, but the flavour never overpowers what you pair them with.
You taste nutty notes from the whole wheat and rye flours, with an earthy richness. Sea salt lifts the flavour and lets the sourdough tang shine. There are no artificial ingredients, just honest ingredients at work.
The sourdough note is present, but subtle, providing a base that complements all sorts of toppings: cheese, charcuterie, or whatever you fancy.
Pairing these crackers with cheese is always fun, as they complement just about anything. Here are a few of my favourite combinations for inspiration:
Jen’s Note: All in all, Peter’s Yard Original Sourdough Crackers are a staple in my kitchen. They’re the sort of thing I reach for, whether I’m putting together a quick snack or building a cheese board for friends. Tangy, crunchy, and full of flavour, they make everything you put on them taste just that little bit better.
