Happy New Year to one and all 🙂 Thank you to all of our customers who bought their Christmas cheese from us. It was incredibly busy but (from our point of view) things went smoothly.
We had a lovely quiet Christmas Day that consisted of seeing family and spending time walking our dogs. We barely see them in December so it was really important for us to spend our days off with them. We’re planning on walking from Devizes to Westminster with them in the next few weeks so will make up for being absent!
It’s been pretty busy in the shop since we came back after a couple of days off post Christmas with New Year’s Eve being another manic day. We had a cheese wedding cake being collected from us on the 2nd January and I have to say it was one of my favourite towers to construct. The cheese wedding cake consisted of wheels of cheese and wheels of pork pies. The end result was the most incredible tower of loveliness. I love putting cheese cakes together whether it’s for a wedding, christening or just a family get together. Creating what is essentially a large cheeseboard is such a great way to introduce artisan cheeses to a wide audience. After all who doesn’t want to nibble on cheese whilst partying the night away.Â
But what’s happening at the moment here in Pangbourne? We have a few plans in the shop for 2020. They range from re-decorating parts of the shop to redesigning our website to visiting more cheesemakers to finding a venue where we can host cheese tasting evenings. Keep an eye on our Facebook and Twitter feeds for more info.
Right now the cheese counter is stocked, the shop is looking lovely so why not pop down and see what the fabulous village of Pangbourne has to offer.
