The Peter’s Yard Pumpkin & Sunflower Seed Sourdough Crackers are the latest addition to the PY range. They are made using a 45-year-old sourdough that ferments for 16 hours and the addition of Pumpkin and Sunflower seeds adds even more crunch and texture. They are perfect to pair with hard cheeses.
Peter’s Yard Pumpkin & Sunflower Seed Sourdough Crackers offer a fresh twist on their classic crispbread. Made in small batches with slow-fermented sourdough left to develop flavour for 16 hours, the dough is then rolled thin and baked crisp.
Pumpkin, sunflower, and poppy seeds enrich the dough, giving these crackers more flavour than typical sourdough crispbreads. You get the classic Peter’s Yard crunch with toasted, nutty notes and a heartier bite, ideal for pairing with rich cheeses or savoury accompaniments.
The first bite brings a crisp crunch followed by the gentle tang classic to good sourdough. A touch of acidity keeps things lively and balances the rich, nutty seed flavours.
Pumpkin and sunflower seeds add crunch and flavour. Once baked, their toasted, nutty aroma warms the crackers. Malted wheat and rye flours contribute earthiness and subtle sweetness, rounding out the taste.
A touch of muscovado sugar adds caramel sweetness, softening the sourdough tang without making the crackers sweet. Sea salt ties the flavours together and highlights savoury, toasty notes.
These crackers are nutty, toasty, tangy, and gently savoury, with a crisp texture and occasional seed crunch. They feel more rustic than the original, making them especially suited for a cheeseboard.
