It’s been another manically busy week – not just on the shop front but at home too 🙂
This week in the shop has been all about decor… Having got new shelving installed a month ago as well as new awnings and the outside smartened up, we realised that the internal decoration needed doing. So our fabulous decorating team agreed to work nights so that the work could all be done whilst the shop was shut. Two long sessions later and the shop looks amazing! It’s so light and feels much bigger – if you haven’t been in for a while you’ll be amazed by the difference! Regular customers will be pleased to hear that the Moona Lisa is still in situ!!
As well as decorating we’ve been tasting some new blue cheeses. We were very excited to get our first batch of Royal Bassett Blues – we had 20 in to try and they all went within 24 hours…yes they are that good! We also sold out of our new local goats cheeses from Norton & Yarrow but luckily we have more of all our new favourites back in stock. We’ve also just had in a new range of cheeses from our friends at Curds & Croust. This Cornish company make 4 different cheeses and we are currently stocking 3 of them with a view to getting the 4th in the new year 🙂
We’re starting to get our Christmas stock in which in itself is a bit scary and we’ll be launching this season’s Vaccherin in the next couple of weeks….
On the domestic front, Ali and I are very lucky to live on a small holding and we keep rare breed pigs. This week has seen the arrival of our pair – Rodney & Dellboy. I had a bit of a shock this morning when I went to feed them as I couldn’t see them anywhere in their field… Typical boys, they were both fast asleep in their ark, curled up together in their hay and looking very settled in their new home.
So between cheese and pigs this week seems to have flown by. We’re off on a field trip this weekend so hopefully there’ll be a lot to report back on next week!
