Christmas is just around the corner and we are gearing up for our busiest few weeks of the year. Our pre-orders have been open for a few weeks and they give us a bit of a guide as to the quantity of cheese we need to have in stock. It’s always a bit nerve wracking ordering all of the Christmas cheese as we have a finite window in which we need to sell it but I’m sure that it will all be OK. After all cheese and Christmas do go hand in hand together.

We are so lucky in that we have a fabulous team who we can call upon to work extra days over the festive period. There are now 11 of us who at one point or another will be in the shop throughout December. Hopefully this means that the queue won’t get too long and everyone will enjoy the cheeses they love with their family and friends. I don’t give many instructions to the team when it’s crazy busy but the key message is always that once a customer has reached the front of the queue there is no rush and we give everyone our full care and attention. It’s a special time of year and we are just so grateful that everyone is so patient and jolly.

As it’s Christmas we have a few extra cheeses in the counter, from the fabulous Beaufort d’Alpage to the equally delicious White Stilton we have something for everyone.
