It has been an incredibly busy summer here in Pangbourne but the kids are now back at school and we’ve had a chance to catch our breaths! Usually August is a bit of a quieter month but this year seems to have bucked all previous trends and we have had loads of visitors to the village and in the cheese shop. Pangbourne is a fantastic village which is full of small independent shops such as ours. It feels as though more and more people are discovering what a great place it is and so it is fast becoming a ‘must see’ village in the local area. I must admit that until we looked for somewhere to buy our cheese wedding cake from I had never really come across Pangbourne in spite of having lived fairly near by for a few years. I am now here everyday and I could not think of a better place to work. Everyone is super friendly and we all look out for each other. We have recently launched our local shopping service for our less mobile customers. If someone lives in the village (or just over the river in Whitchurch) we will pick up small amounts of shopping from the village shops and deliver it, along with their cheese, at no extra cost. It is a level of service that we are proud to be able to offer and it means that local people can still patronise the local shops even if they struggle to get here.
