Soft, gooey and unmistakably goaty. St Maure de Touraine PDO is a 200g taste sensation.
St Maure de Touraine is one of our stronger goats’ cheeses. Underneath its ash covered rind is a soft and creamy, full on cheese. Known as the King of the Touraine cheeses this is undeniably a truly great cheese. It is named after the Touraine area of France where it was first produced and by law it can only be made in this region.
Every cheese that is made has a straw running through the middle of it. If you carefully remove the straw you will be able to see the name of the cheesemaker along with their unique registration number. These details have been etched onto the straw and prove that the cheese has been made under the strict conditions of its PDO status.
The absolute perfect way to enjoy this cheese is with a glass of Sancerre and a hunk of warm sourdough bread.
