The Fine Cheese Co. Chilli & Extra Virgin Olive Oil Crackers are a bit of a favourite here. They’re crisp and have just the right hint of chilli and olive oil, enough to make things interesting but not so much that they steal the show from your cheese. I like them with a good mature cheddar or a crumbly Lancashire, but they’re just as happy alongside a creamy blue. They add a bit of crunch and warmth, but the cheese still gets to be the main event.
The Fine Cheese Co. Chilli & Extra Virgin Olive Oil Crackers are a bit of a favourite here. They’re made in Bath and are designed to let the cheese shine, not steal the show. I love how their gentle seasoning and crisp bite make them a handy addition to any cheeseboard; they bring a bit of flavour and crunch without getting in the way of the main event.
The crackers have a lovely balance, thanks to just a handful of well-chosen ingredients. Wheat flour is the base. Extra virgin olive oil makes up about 11% of the mix. It adds gentle richness and a hint of fruitiness without making the crackers heavy.
The chilli is intentionally restrained. Instead of intense heat, dried crushed chillies offer gentle warmth that slowly grows on the palate. Tomato powder and flakes give a mild, savoury sweetness and a slightly tangy undertone. Sea salt brings the flavours together and increases the cracker’s savoury edge.
These crackers are crisp and light, delivering a proper crunch. The olive oil gives a delicate, almost brittle snap, but they’re strong enough to hold a good wedge of cheese. The flavour is intentionally gentle. These crackers know their place and let the cheese stand out.
Overall, the flavour profile is savoury, gently spiced, and slightly fruity from the olive oil and tomato. The chilli heat arrives softly at the finish, leaving a mild warmth that pairs particularly well with richer or more mature cheeses.
Because they’re subtle yet warm, these crackers pair well with bolder cheeses.
Jen’s Note: If you enjoy extras, these crackers pair well with chilli jam, caramelised onion chutney, or roasted red peppers. The biscuit’s gentle chilli complements these toppings. Each bite gives a mix of sweet, savoury, and subtle heat.
